All too often our hearts remain restless for what will truly fulfill.  To the surprise of many. the solution could be profoundly simple. For the gift of human life was meant to be a return journey in the Healing Heart of God.

All too often we lose awareness that Our Creator is a personal, tender, intimate, affirming Love.  Our hearts were fashioned out of this Love and it is only His Eternal Love that will ever satisfy. Simply, life is but a school to learn to love as God truly loves us.  To return love for Love.  This is the enduring lesson to be learned:  The Art of Divine Love.

In this regard our generation is no different from any other.  For we too hunger for a fresh connection with the Creator of it all.

To address this common need, a gifted group of artisans have offered their talent for a contemporary re-expression of sacred truths. This fine art portfolio is intended to be a creative tool in nurturing one in their spiritual awakening. For each unique image is the artist’s humble gift of relaying a story of wonder, a story of wisdom, literally worth a thousand words.

Simply, if each work of art would touch and give hope to at least one person caught up in the struggles of life, then wondrously our primary goal will have been and rewarded in kind.

Mary, Mother of the Eucharist

In an age when there is so much emptiness through the pursuit of every thing to the exclusion of God, Mary appears as the New Ark of the Covenant.  What humanity foolishly pushed away, the New Eve recaptures what the human heart will always thirst and hunger for. With maternal concern, she invites us anew to be living receptacles of the indwelling of the Trinity. Her joy is to be our joy in radiating the affirming nature of the Son, the Spirit, and the Father, wondrouslu illustrated respectively by the Eucharist, the Dove of Light, and the clothing of the warmth of the Sun.

Mary’s crown is not seven crystals, rather seven liquid teardrops.  Several of her many sorrows embraced in union with her Son for our Redemptive Healing. If we follow Mary’s example, our tears of sadness will be turned into tears of joy.

In Blossom: The Harvest
I am the Vine. You are the Branches

Beginning in 1974, in a soup kitchen serving the poorest of the poor in Rome, I was blessed with an endearing and enduring spiritual friendship with Mother Teresa of Calcutta.  Through the many years, often our personal conversations would begin quite simply but end with our hearts immersed in the Pure Love of God.

Mother truly loved the parable of the vine and the branches. As a gifted storyteller, she cherished to share and inspire others with the fruit of her mediations. For example, we are

not at the end of our spiritual journey once we have grafted our souls onto Christ as His living branches. For then we are called to His channels of grace, to allow His healing love to course through our hearts. THe Master Gardener urges us to be His loyal apprentices in the harvesting of hearts for eternity through the healing art of prayer and sacrifice. We must learn to bear fruit through the Art of Divine Love.

Mother Teresa knew experientially that there is only One Undivided Love that can ever fulfill the human heart. The Uncreated Love of the Trinity. For the truth, this is the very love that graciously gave us the gift of life, in whose image we are all made.  She yearned to help every soul know that it can only spiritually blossom in the Heart of Jesus.

And once a soul is enveloped in Devine Love, it will be drawn into guiding others into God's Healing Embrace. For true love will engender true love. For this is the very dynamic of the interior life of the Trinity: The Divine Family loves to share its love.

As you mediate upon this spiritual image entitled: "In Blossom: The Harvest": may you begin to sense the inner joy and singular fulfillment reflected in her contemplative gaze. Truly, the eyes are the window into the soul.  For here, Mother Teresa is revealing this very secret regarding divine love. Having securely grafted her very soul to the vine, she now perceives clearly the deep desire of Our Redeemer, the Wounded Healer, to pray and labor out of love for an abundant harvest, so that the original plan of God may come to fruition, souls may come to know and unite with the Pure Love they were created for.

Note: The resplendent rosary beads are of varying color. These are representative of the diverse souls among the various cultures still in need of profound healing through Divine Love.

I Thirst

The heart rendering plea of Jesus, “I Thirst” is seen alongside every chapel cross of the Missionaries of Charity. This scriptural saying became the hallmark of Mother Teresa’s mission.  For Mother understood clearly that Jesus thrists for our love in order that we may begin to thirst for His Life-Giving Waters.  For our hearts were simply created for Divine Love. And so, this fine artwork is an unfolding collage of four life portraits of her spiritual development.

At the beginning, we behold this youthful woman

surrendering to the call of Christ.  For Jesus reveals that it is only He who is able to break the paradox of human suffering, the crown of thorns, and offer the hope of eternal life.  Filled with fortitude, the new foundress will deny jesus nothing. Mary, ever the Mother of the Poor, will nurture her in the gift of prayer.  For in the footsteps of Jesus, one will gather flowers of varying colors, some of scarlet filled with sorrow, some white with the joy of love.  At the closure of her journey, she receives the pure lily having attained the transforming union with her beloved. Even her aging profile takes on the shape of the land she came to clearly call her own, India.

Spiritual Awakening

As the Lion looks upon the reflecting waters, he beholds the image of the lamb. Who can this be?

In the Testament of Old, the promised Savior was refered to as the Lion of Judah, who would come to crush the enemies of God’s original design of peace and harmony throughout creation.  To the surprise of many, Jesus came as the Sacrificial Lamb who embraced and healed our broken hearts with an affirming and Pure Divine Love.

A secondary story: So many have such tough exterior

defenses that encase and overlay protect our wounded ego’s, that inadvertantly, we block the true awakening of the Spirit within. The once regal Lion, a symbol of us all, finally comes to a point of brokenness in his life’s journey as he is led gently, yet mysteriously, to a pool of Life Giving Waters. Just at the moment of utter surrender, as his inner defenses fall away, the Lion experiences a rebirth of his own spirit as he now clearly sees the inner peace and harmony that is offered through the Creator-Healer-Spirit of us all.
